A couple of years ago while having lunch with "the girls"at a Greek restaurant I was given my first taste of hummus..... "mashed chickpeas, blended with tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, salt and garlic. It is a popular food throughout the Middle East"
They were enjoying it so much it was not what I expected. I almost couldn't swallow it. My throat opened as if I was going to vomit in my mouth. (sorry so descriptive) So, I quietly turned my head to the side and used my napkin to remove the dry, chalky, paste from my mouth. My spine shivered and my mind thought NEVER AGAIN!!

hamos, houmous, hommos, hommus, hummos, hummous or humus;
Any way you pronounce it it was
Garbanzo beans mushed up and I wanted no more of it!!
Last week my girlies and I went to the lunch at a different restaurant. Their appetizer of choice again.... HUMMUS!
Conversation-
Them; Oh Bobbi, give it a try.
Me: No I think I'll pass, its just not for me.
Them: But its much better than the other try you had, I promise you'll love it!
Me: Thanks, but no thanks.
Them: Ok-- you're a chicken today!
Me: Ya, I love chicken
Them: But you don't want to be a chicken do you? I thought you were trying new foods that were good for you.
Me: True- but this isn't new to me.
Them: (mockingly) Bah-Bah-BAAAHHKKK!
Me: I smile in return.
Them: Friend gets cracker and spread a insy tinsy bit on the corner.- "Here just a taste"
Picture Me: a scowl- nose turned up--holding my breath-- and opening my mouth!
OH MY- goodness!

Moral of the story-
A friend will know you better in the first minute you meet
than your acquaintances will know you in a thousand years.
